The “Tea Party” Isn’t a Party
“Tea party” is not an organized political party. However, by the sound of congress, the President and any far-reaching “news media” you’d think it were. The concept is laughable.
“TEA” was coined as an acronym for”Taxed Enough Already”.
Many who consider themselves of the same mind-set refer to themselves as being a member of the TEA party and those people still maintain their chosen political affiliations. Meaning that those who count themselves among the “TEA party” are Republicans, Democrats, Libertarians and anything else, including independents.
There is no “Tea Party” political party to register under or align yourself with.
It doesn’t exist beyond a simple idea. The idea of being in the “TEA party”, regardless of your political affiliation is to send a message to our government to “get your filthy paws off our wallets, you damned, dirty apes!” But rather than receive the message, they (not all Democrats, but the sitting Democrats in Congress) are bastardizing it and turning it into a divisive phrase - because that’s the game the liberals in government and their cool-aid drinkers play by: affiliation and class warfare.
Note that I do not consider myself -that- conservative. But I’m certainly not -that- liberal, either. I don’t do cool-aid drinking because I’m actually a free-thinking person.
The sitting Democrat congress began hijacking the term “Tea Party” (lower-case ‘ea” and capital P when written to make it appear and sound like an organized political party - which it is not) to reference all those people who were expressing angry feedback during “Town Hall meetings’ (where the representative returned home to have public meetings with their constituents). This (among additional other things) caused the large media “cool-aid drinking sheep” to pick-up the term and throw it around in the same light as they do “extreme conservatives” and now the term “Tea Party” is used in place of “TEA party” as a derogatory phrase toward others one does not like: “you’re just a Tea Partier!!!”
However, that is no different from extreme liberals labeling someone a “Nazi” or “Hitler”, which would be completely laughable if it weren’t for the dilution of the real horrors of history normally associated with such terms.
The pathetic thing is rather than actually insulting someone, the term-hurler looks foolish and childish by watering-down the real tragedies associated with such a term. As for “ZOMG!!!! You’re a tea partier!!!” … I say laugh at it. Those with lazy minds and simple educations on a losing side always will lash-out with childish rhetoric, not realizing how stupid they make themselves look and sound.
Being called “Tea Party” is akin to “You’re a doo-doo poopy-head!!!” Just smile, nod, pat their head softly and whisper “there, there, now” then turn and walk away.
As for the “TEA” party in it’s original intent and connotation: “TEA: Taxed Enough Already”: I count myself among that group. As for whether I lean toward conservative or liberal politics and whether I am a registered Republican, Democrat, Libertarian, Independent or anything else doesn’t matter.
I still want the federal government out of my back pocket - politics have nothing to do with it. But the extreme liberals (and there are liberals in both parties, folks) in Washington D.C. as usual have turned it into political strife.
In the end it doesn’t even matter what you think. Because if you feel the tax burdens you face to be enough already, or even too high then you also are among the “TEA” party whether you admit it or not.
Go figure.
